Hawaii has a strong tradition in manufacturing spanning such industries as food processing and apparel to name just a few. The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii and HTDC INNOVATE have launched a manufacturing initiative in Hawaii to raise awareness and support for manufacturing in Hawaii! DBEDT supports this effort.
INNOVATE HAWAII helps local manufacturers become more profitable by offering business assistance, Hawaii SBIR/STTR grant matching, and expert consulting services, all at an affordable cost. The INNOVATE HAWAII team provides manufacturers with the tools to create, build, and grow their businesses in Hawaii.
INNOVATE Hawaii is a program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP). Since 1993, the program (formerly known separately as the Hawaii Small Business Innovation Research program and Manufacturing Extension Partnership) has been administered by the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), an agency for the State of Hawaii.
Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii
The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii has created the Manufacturing in Hawaii initiative, which is led by the Manufacturing in Hawaii Group made up of business leaders from various fields and industries. They have created an extensive portal site that members can use as a resource to gather information on how to sustain and expand their manufacturing business in Hawaii.
