The Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture, a nonprofit with the mission of improving the quality of life for Native Hawaiians, opened its Center for Entrepreneurship in Kapolei on March 31. The center, which primarily serves the west side of Oahu, supports “family-owned community-based businesses to increase their capacity to succeed,” Program Director Lisa Pakele told Pacific Business News.

The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) is recruiting Hawai‘i companies to promote and sell Hawai‘i-made products at the Autumn 2023 Tokyo International Gift Show (TIGS).

The Made in Hawai‘I site is now linked prominently on the following high trafficked sites. Madein.Hawaii.gov is the one-stop site which helps shoppers know exactly where to look to find products that are made in Hawaiʻi!

Defense-related expenditures bring in approximately $2.5 billion to Hawai‘i’s economy. This spending is expected to increase during the upcoming years, highlighted by the recent award of a $2.8 billion Navy contract for work at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
