<p dir="LTR">The Trade Winds Asia $ 2,450 registration fee includes from May 12-15, 2013 Seoul, South Korea &#8211; Business to Business matchmaking, attendance in the Business Forum, and one-on-one meetings with Senior Commercial Officers from 14 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.  Additional stops are also available for matchmaking meetings by the U.S. Department of Commerce in Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, and Taiwan for an additional fee.  See attached flyers for more detailed information.</p>
<p dir="LTR">Grant funds are available to qualified companies for up to $ 1,650 reimbursable of the $ 2,450 Trade Winds Forum registration fees. This subsidy will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the mission for those qualified participating companies.  All other related costs of travel, lodging and transportation are the sole responsibility of each participant.</p>

<p>“We set out to do business with China and we’ve accomplished a first step in moving towards a direction of mutual economic growth in the area of clean energy,” said Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Robert Stanga, President of Hamakua Heritage Farm in Laupahoehoe, on the island of Hawaii, produces gourmet mushrooms known as Hamakua Mushrooms. The company enrolled in the Hawaii Enterprise Zones Partnership program which is a state government program that offers tax and other incentives to eligible businesses located in designated Enterprise Zones in the state.</p>
<p>“The EZ program has helped our company to grow tremendously. We have benefited from the tax credits offered through this program and are grateful to DBEDT and Hawaii County for bringing this program to our attention,” said Stanga. “We hope that the Hamakua brand is perpetuated through agricultural companies, such as ours, and we are pleased to be a part of Hawaii’s story.”</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Okinawan sweet potatoes grown in Hawaii will soon be used to make a popular Japanese spirit known as Shochu. Ken Hirata aims to be one of the few shochu makers outside of Japan and is working to set up a distillery and farm on Oahu.</p>
<p>Through a $25,000 loan from DBEDT’s Micro Loan Program, Hirata is on his way. “It’s going to be really great,” he said. “It’s going to be a high-end product” using Japan’s finest tradition and made in Hawaii thanks to the support and assistance by DBEDT.</p>
