The Buy Hawai\u02bbi, Give Aloha website has added five new certification badges to our profiles for qualifying companies and organizations. In the coming weeks you will see small badges appear next to listings that provide confirmation of their participation in one of these great certifying groups.\u00a0Now you can shop our participating companies and organizations confident that they have been vetted and are truly local Hawaiian businesses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a list and description of each certification:<\/p>\n\n\n

\"HawaiiHawai\u02bbi Seals of Quality<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Launched in May 2006, the Hawaii Seals of Quality (SOQ) Program<\/a> represents the cream of the crop of Hawai\u02bbi\u2019s agricultural producers. It was established to protect the integrity and value of the marketing cachet for Hawaii branded farm and value-added products. Products with this seal are genuine, Hawai\u02bbi-grown or Hawai\u02bbi-made premium products, a guarantee that is enforced by the State of Hawai\u02bbi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"MadeMade in Hawai\u02bbi with Aloha<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Made in Hawai\u02bbi with Aloha (MIHA) branding program<\/a> was established to protect the integrity and value of authentic Hawai\u02bbi branded products and to identify those products made in Hawai\u02bbi from products made elsewhere yet called made in Hawai\u02bbi.\u00a0Products labeled with the MIHA logo comply with the provisions of Hawai\u02bbi Revised Statutes (HRS) \u00a7486-119 Hawai\u02bbi-made products; Hawai\u02bbi-processed products (see below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"KauaiKaua\u02bbi Made<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kaua\u02bbi Made<\/a> is a program created by the County of Kaua\u02bbi to officially represent the products made on Kaua\u02bbi, by Kaua\u02bbi people, using Kaua\u02bbi materials.\u00a0This web site provides information on the types of Kaua\u02bbi Made products available, their product makers, and the retailers who carry them. Each company has been reviewed and qualified to carry the\u00a0Kaua\u02bbi Made<\/a>\u00a0logo under County ordinance, based on their authenticity and quality as a local product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"MadeMade in Maui\u00a0<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Made in Maui Trade Council<\/a> is a committee of The Maui Chamber of Commerce with over 50 members working together to increase awareness of our locally made products. Our trademarked \u201cMade in Maui\u201d seal is a sign to the consumer of a products local Maui origin and that at least 51% of the value added to the product was done on Maui. The idea is that Made in Maui products have local people behind them. \u201cLocal people, Local pride!, it\u2019s an emphasis on these products as part of a new economy, beyond tourism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"MadeMade in Maui County Festival<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Presented by the Maui Chamber of Commerce and supported by the County of Maui Mayor\u2019s Office of Economic Development, the annual Made In Maui County Festival<\/a> was created to stimulate our island\u2019s economy by boosting sales and awareness of locally made products. It is a showcase of the hard work and creativity in our local community, and buyers from around the state and across the nation are getting word that this is the place to be if they want to see the best that Maui County has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
