Hale Malu Farms-product
Headquarters: Oʻahu
Hale Malu Farms is a Hawaiʻi-based agricultural business originally founded on Maui in 2011. The farm was created to support local food production through poultry, eggs, chicks, pullets, hatchery services, and farm-support operations. After the Maui wildfires disrupted the farm’s original operations, Hale Malu Farms began rebuilding with a broader mission focused on food security, agricultural resilience, and local supply-chain development. Today, Hale Malu Farms is rebuilding as a diversified farm and agricultural infrastructure platform serving Maui and the broader Hawaiʻi market. The organization’s planned operations include egg production, quail production, hatchery services, pullet and chick availability, greenhouse distribution, poultry housing, farm equipment, and farm-supply fulfillment. The business is also developing supplier and partner relationships to improve access to greenhouses, poultry infrastructure, hatchery equipment, and other farm-support products that are often difficult or expensive for Hawaiʻi farmers and families to obtain. Hale Malu Farms’ goal is to help strengthen Hawaiʻi’s local food system by making practical agricultural tools, livestock, growing systems, and production support more accessible. The rebuild plan includes a 3,000–5,000 laying hen operation, approximately 3,000 quail, hatchery capacity, greenhouse access, and workforce development opportunities connected to farming, food production, and agricultural education. The organization is committed to supporting Hawai’i’s long-term recovery, increasing local food production, creating agricultural jobs, and helping farms, schools, homesteads, nonprofits, and families build stronger food-security systems across Hawaiʻi.
