EZ Program Confidentiality Guidelines

The following categories of information are subject to public inspection in accordance with Hawaii’s Uniform Information Practices Act, chapter 92F, Hawaii Revised Statutes:
Business Type, Primary Industry, Business Name, Business Structure, Date Established, Establishment City, State and County, Main Address, Participation in other Government-funded Programs, Force Majeure Events, and Hawaii-licensed Contractors taking GET exemption. Contact Person, Title, Telephone, Fax and Email are subject to public inspection if this information is used in conducting a business.

The following categories of information may be withheld from public inspection if it is determined the information constitutes confidential business information that if disclosed would likely cause the applicant substantial competitive harm, or if disclosure would otherwise frustrate a legitimate government function: Annual Gross Revenue, Hawaii GET Payments, Unemployment Insurance Premium Payments, Annual State Income Tax Payments, Real Property Taxes Paid, Income Taxes Paid to other States, Average Monthly Payroll, Number of Employees. Acreage Affected and Crop Loss due to Force Majeure Event.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism reserves the right to disclose this information in anonymous or aggregate form for program evaluation and reporting.
