Hawaii Fashion Month 2014 just got bigger with the addition of Honolulu Magazine’s “Honolulu Fashion Week” scheduled for November 7-8, 2014. Governor Neil Abercrombie and Honolulu Magazine publisher Alyson Helwagen made the announcement on January 31 at the C’est Si Bon ballroom before a large group of media, international designers who flew in from Japan and New York City, and Hawaii’s fashion movers and shakers.
The standing room crowd packed the gala event that paired fashion, food and music. Fashion designers from Tokyo, Milan, Paris and New York announced their collaboration with local fashion designers and retailers in the first week of November.
“Honolulu Fashion Week will definitely be one of the signature events of this year’s Hawaii Fashion Month” according to Richard Lim of DBEDT. DBEDT was a major driver with the Hawaii Fashion Incubator in bringing about Hawaii Fashion Month.
