Hankyu Hawaii FairThe 2017 Hankyu Hawaii Fair kicked off on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Osaka. This year, the Fair brings together 77 companies gathered in a North Shore-like marketplace-setting, for companies to sell food, apparel, jewelry, and art from Hawaii.

Some Hawaii companies like Ola Tropical Apothecary, Lauren Roth Art,  Aikane Plantation Coffee, and Forty-Niner, have returned for the third consecutive year. New companies include Matsumoto Shave Ice, Bradley & Lily and Noelani Love.

DBEDT is a sponsor and partners with Hankyu Department Stores to bring the Hawaii companies to Umeda, Osaka, in order for them to sell directly to consumers not only to sell products, but to gain better understanding of consumer preferences for flavors, packaging and even sizing. This will help Hawaii companies as they seek longer-term distribution throughout Japan. Further, DBEDT has created the Buy Hawaii, Give Aloha marketing concept to encourage Japanese consumers to buy Hawaii made products.

The Fair runs through Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Hankyu Umeda Main Store.
