Leeward Community College hosting free workshop for small businesses
Posted on Feb 9, 2016 in Hawaii Small Business Fair, Helping Business, Leeward Community College, NewsHONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Leeward Community College will host the Spring 2016 Hawaii Small Business Fair, sponsored in partnership by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT). The free one-day event will feature 29 workshops and over 30 exhibitors from federal, state and local agencies and non-profit organizations. The free workshops and exhibits provide an opportunity for small business owners and future business owners to learn to grow or start their business.
Attendees will enjoy a wide range of workshop topics that includes Industry Insights modules focused on Tech Start-Ups, Manufacturing in Hawaii and Agriculture Start-Ups. Other courses include: Financing Options; Starting a Food Truck Business; Social Media Marketing; Federal Income Taxes; and Copyrights, Patents, and Trademarks. One-on-one business counseling will also be offered by SCORE.
The fair will close with a ‘Secrets to Success’ presentation featuring the owners of Tanioka’s Seafood & Catering of Waipahu, and local clothing boutique Eden in Love. Participants will hear from these successful entrepreneurs about their challenges and milestones as small business owners.
This fair is made possible by event participants: Leeward Community College, Dept. of Business Economic Development & Tourism, Business Action Center, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Internal Revenue Service, Honolulu Community College, State Department of Transportation, and SCORE.
