DBEDT Sponsors CNHA Small Business and Entrepreneur Resource Fair
Posted on Oct 23, 2017 in CNHA, DBEDT, News, Small Business SupportOn Tuesday, October 10, 2017, the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) hosted the Small Business and Entrepreneur Resource Fair at the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s (CNHA) 16th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention held at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel & Resort – themed Aloha Lahui, celebrating our love for the nation and collective participation in building a vibrant Hawaiian community.
The 3-day convention was attended by more than 500 Native Hawaiian residents and visitors seeking new dynamics to the way business is done, both here in Hawaii and across the Mainland United States. Business owners and officers, entrepreneurs, cultural practitioners, political advocates and representatives, non-profit representatives, teens and kupuna in attendance came seeking more innovative ways to strengthen coalitions, provide input, share ideas, learn and embrace the shared elements that bind all Hawaii’s people.
DBEDT’s sponsored Small Business and Entrepreneur Resource Fair featured more than 19 Federal, State, nonprofit and private business and agencies that serve as valuable resources to not only Native Hawaiian entrepreneurs and businesses, but all Hawaii. Business Fair Resource Exhibitors included: DBEDT, DCCA-Business Action Center, Hawaii State Library, Hawaii State Department of Health, UH-Minority Business Development Agency, Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA), Veterans Business Outreach Center, US Census Bureau, IRS Tax Payer Advocate, SBA, FDIC, Hawaii Small Business Development Center, Pacific Gateway Center, Oahu WorkLinks, Hawaii Venture Capital Association, Patsy Mink Center, Homestreet Bank and Maunakea Solutions.
