SAVE THE DATE! SAT 8/23/2014 2014 Hawaii Small Business Fair The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) will co-host the 2014 Hawaii Small Business Fair, “Launch Your Dreams into Reality.”

The National American Logistics Association, together with the Local Hawaii Chapter, is hosting the 17th Annual “Local Vendor Show,” to be held on August 20, 2014 at the Pacific Beach Hotel from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a special opportunity for manufacturers and distributors of products Made in Hawaii, or are unique to Hawaii, to display, sample, and present their products to Hawaii Commissary and Exchange buyers. The key decision-makers will be in attendance, so this is your time to sell your product. One-on-one meetings will be scheduled on Friday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 23rd.

Maui-based HNu-nanoPOINT wins this year’s BIO International Convention (June 23-26, 2014 San Diego) Buzz of BIO Award. The Hawaii company is one of four winners in this year’s competition recognizing the most innovative companies in the biotech sector.

DBEDT is once again organizing a Hawaii pavilion at BIO to promote and highlight Hawaii life science companies. This event brings thousands of life science leaders from 60+ countries together for one week of intensive, networking activities where new opportunities are identified and promising partnerships begin. This year BIO will take place from June 23-26, 2014 in San Diego. Hawaii life science participants this year will include Cardax, Eyegenix, Hawaii Biotech, HNu-nanoPOINT, Pono Pharma and Tissue Genesis. In addition to DBEDT, the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) and the Maui Economic Development Board will participate along with the University of Hawaii represented by the UH Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation and the UH Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development (OTTED).
