Governor Proclaims October as Hawaii Fashion Month

Governor Neil Abercrombie, surrounded by Hawaii Fashion Incubator founders and many fashion industry designers and professionals, proclaimed October 2013 as Hawaii Fashion Month (HFM). The media launch for HFM was held at The Modern in Waikiki attended by notable in the fashion industry.

HFM will provide platforms to showcase and elevate all aspects of Hawaii’s fashion industry, from design and manufacturing to retail, art, styling, photography, and more. The event will build bridges and connections between Hawaii and the international fashion community through showcases, speakers, and networking, helping to raise the profile of Hawaii as a unique, creative and progressive fashion destination. High-profile events such as OUTFIT: Hawaii Fashion Designers Market will create connections and inspire discussions on the potential of fashion as a thriving industry for Hawaii.

HFM was developed by the State of Hawaii, Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT).

HFM is a unique community collaboration to move Hawaii fashion forward. For more information, please visit: www.hawaiifashionmonth.com.
