Posted on Aug 15, 2016 in DBEDT, Honolulu Community College, News, Small Business FairThe 2016 Summer Hawaii Small Business Fair, sponsored by DBEDT, was successfully held at Honolulu Community College, Saturday, August 6, 2016. Over 250 attendees pre-registered for 18 classes by business experts, ranging from business planning to developing marketing plans with Census data, to leveraging social media for promotion. The registration showed a continuing trend where attendees were split 50/50 between currently owning a business and seeking resources to create a new company.
There was a high number of walk-in attendees, leading to several popular classes having standing attendees. Presentations for select classes are provided via links in the class schedule.
The Planning Committee: Honolulu Community College, DBEDT, Leeward Community College, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), DCCA Business Action Center, and Internal Revenue Service.
