HONOLULU – The state of Hawai‘i Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) has been awarded a $936,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program. Through the grant funding, DBEDT will provide cybersecurity services to local small businesses at no cost. Services will include technical assessments of small businesses’ information technology (IT) networks, cyber training for employees, penetration testing, and Wi-Fi upgrades and recovery services as applicable.

Funded in part through a Grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Hawaii State Trade Expansion Program, or HISTEP, assists Hawaii small businesses with their export development. DBEDT is organizing and recruiting Hawai‘i companies for the Hawai‘i Pavilions at the two trade shows in March 2023:

The Hawaiʻi State Trade Expansion Program (HiSTEP) has officially launched for 2023!  Funded in part through a Grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Hawaii State Trade Expansion Program, or HISTEP, assists Hawaii small businesses with their export development. The HiSTEP Company Assistance (HiSTEP-CA) provides financial assistance to eligible individual Hawaii companies to support their export development activities.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman announced major enhancements to the COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, a federal disaster relief loan designed to better serve and support our small business communities still reeling from the pandemic, especially hard-hit sectors such as restaurants, gyms, and hotels. The SBA is ready to receive new applications immediately from small businesses looking to take advantage of these new policy changes.

The Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT) has announced that the application deadline for the 2021 HiSTEP – Company Assistance program has been extended until September 30, 2021.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has re-opened the Shuttered Venue Operations Grant (SVOG) application portal, as well as the the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF).
